East Antrim Youth League
   Comber   1      Ballyclare      1

Coach Road
Saturday  5th April 2008

This game just shows that sometimes league position counts for nothing. Comber began the game fully expecting a comfortable victory. However, football at times isn't that predictable!

Five minutes into the game Whiteside hit a great corner which Childs headed into the net putting Comber one up. The signs looked good for Comber. Walker hit a shot just left of the post and Wilson tried to walk the ball into the net, instead of hitting it early. Other corners and crosses followed but Comber failed to take their chances. Ballyclare had a chance or two themselves but Manley did well to block their efforts.

In the second half Comer perhaps lost their shape a little and tiredness set in maybe due to the midweek game against Barn. Ballyclare were first to the ball and forced Comber back.  Their goal eventually came when the striker scored from close range. It was nothing more than they deserved. The Comber defence at times was unorganised which made it hard for themselves. Certain players started brightly enough but as the game went on faded due to tiredness. Larne Youth are the next opponents on Thursday at the Valley, then a must win game against Larne Colts in the Plate competition.
