Upper Ardoyne v Comber Rec Under 11s

The Comber boys were playing their first ever Sunday game at Mallusk today due to the school transfer tests, And they were eager for a game due to the poor weather over the past few weeks.
The Upper Ardoyne team kicked the match off playing into the strong wind and it was very clear from the first minute that it was going to cause both teams problems.
The kick off ball which was played forward held in the wind and fell to Robbie Johnston who drove forward past the Ardoyne midfield and played a long ball out to the left side were Oliver Wilson collected the ball, he beat the left back and crossed a great ball into the box were Calum McCloskey was waiting. Calum then hit a lovely right foot drive into the net for Combers first goal of the day. 1-0.
The wind was again playing a big part as the Upper Ardoyne keeper struggled to clear his box from a bye ball and this was pounced upon by Oliver Wilson who again found a great ball to the feet of Robbie Johnston who made no mistake to drive in his first goal of the day and Combers 2nd. 2-0.
The next 10 mins were played in the Ardoyne half with James Hogg and Alex Hawthorne working hard to chase down every loose ball, This paid dividend for Comber when Timmy Browne got a stray pass, he beat his marker and passed into Alex who stayed calm to slip the ball past the keeper for his first goal of the day and making it 3-0 to Comber.
James was chasing down everything and was unlucky not to score when through on goal but was denied by the Upper Ardoyne Goalkeeper who got down well to push the ball wide for a corner. Calum took the resulting corner and it was Timmy Larmour who got a head to the ball first and knocked it down to Timmy Browne who was never going to miss from 12 yards to score his first of the day . 4-0 Comber.
Again Comber pushed Ardoyne back and won another corner, Calum put another great corner right into the box and Alex struck the ball into the net for his 2nd goal of the game and made the game 5-0 to Comber.
As the clock pushed towards half -time Comber won another corner and again Calum put a fantastic ball in which Timmy Browne met with a great header to make it 6-0 to Comber.

Half Time 

Comber made one change at the break bringing James Hogg off and replacing him with Aaron Hawthorne.
Comber kicked off playing into the wind and as Upper Ardoyne found it a struggle in the first half so Comber would find it in the second as immediately the Comber defence were tested and it was left to Matty Davidson to make a great save to prevent Upper Ardoyne from scoring. A great pass out from Aaron Milligan to Robbie Johnston in the middle of the park saw Robbie go one a superb piece of individual skill by beating several of the Upper Ardoyne team before placing the ball in the corner of the net for his second of the day and Combers 7th. 7-0 Comber.
Two further changes were made as Comber brought off Jack Savage and Alex Robinson and replaced them with Dean Chadwick and Harry Walker.
Comber had the midfield battle won though Ardoyne pushed on and it was left to Cameron Foster to clear his lines when it looked like Comber were under pressure. He hit a great pass from defence up to Harry Walker in midfield hand Harry pushed the ball back to Timmy Browne who sprinted clear to score past the keeper for his hat-trick and Combers 8th. 8-0 Comber.
Again Comber pushed forward and it was Oliver Wilson who had been moved to an unfamiliar centre forward position who struck next for Comber as Robbie picked out Calum who turned his marker and played a ball alond the 18 yard line and Oliver hit a great strike to score his first of the day and Combers 9th. 9-0 Comber.
Comber then endured a few moments of pressure as Upper Ardoyne had two free kicks on the Comber 18 yard line, Again though the Comber keeper Matty Davidson was not going to be beaten and he gathered the ball to take the pressure off his team.
With the game in the closing moments Dean Chadwick won the ball and passed to Calum, Calum hit a hard drive over the Upper Ardoyne defence which Timmy Browne collected and ran on goal, Timmy pushed the ball low to the keepers left for his 4th goal and Combers 10th. 10-0 Comber.
