The Rec got this season's league campaign of
to a great start against Carnmoney Colts at
Threemile Water. With Comber enjoying the early
exchanges it was only a matter of time before
they would take the lead. A great ball from
Connor Pinnons give Chris Curran-Cochrane an
easy task of opening the scoring. Five minutes
later and it was 2-0, Stuart Hanna finding the
net. The game was over as a contest when Curran-Cochrane
again made the most of another excellent ball
from Pinnons to make it 3-0. On 30 minutes a
fine ball from Justin Childs sent Hanna free
on the right, his cross come shot ended in the
back of the net much to the bemusement of the
Carnmoney keeper.
In the Second half it was much more of the
same, a relentless onslaught from the Rec lads
that would see Chris complete his first hat-trick
for the club. Further goals from Ryan Irwin,
Alex Malcolm-Bourne, Connor Pinnons and Adam
Beattie would turn this into a rout. Beattie's
goal will take some beating as goal of the season.
A quick throw in from Pinnons found Beattie
on the edge of the box, with one touch he turned
and unleashed a fierce shot into the top corner
of the net.
Good performance with every player contributing
to the victory, however, special mention to
debutantes Andrew Gibson and Connor Pinnons
who both put in excellent performances.
