Comber Rec 8- 3 Templepatrick
Valley (1)
29 September 2006
Unlike previous weeks when Comber struggled
to find the back of the net they got off to
a great start when in the opening minutes Alec
Malcolm-Bourne latched on to a loose ball in
the box and hammered home. However, Templepatrick
drew level soon after when they converted a
penalty kick. The lead was restored on 11 minutes
when Chris Curran-Cochrane scored. Four minutes
later and Ryan Irwin stretched the lead when
he hit a long range effort into the top of the
net. Playing their best football of the season
Comber went further ahead when Malcolm-Bourne
completed his hat-trick with a quick brace just
before half-time.
Templepatrick hit back after the break to make
it 5-2 however, winger Stuart Hanna ensured
that the result was never in any doubt when
he finished from close range. Not to be out
done Irwin finished of a fine individual performance
by scoring with a brilliant 30 yard shot, then
close to the final whistle completing his hat-trick
from the penalty spot.
A good solid performance from all the lads
that sees them maintain their unbeaten start
to the season.
