Under 15s Match Report

After last weeks drivel, Comber found themselves playing bottom of the table Carryduff. After a few minutes it was clear there was only going to be one winner. However in the first 15 minutes, the home team couldn't find the back of the net with any of their numerous chances. This was due to bad finishing and great saves by the impressive Carryduff keeper. Josh Dunlop had a couple of chances but his shots went straight at the keeper. Aaron Dunlop was doing well, as a wing back on the right hitting a few accurate crosses. The opposition were struggling to cope with the speedy Wilson, and hard working Coulter in midfield. The breakthrough came when Josh Dunlop finally scored with a well placed shot. Two more goals followed in quick sucession, with Walker scoring his first of the season, and then Milligan hitting a shot which slightly deflected off the unlucky defender. Chance after chance fell to the home sides front line, and Milligan then got his second with a strong shot. Rodney was unlucky not to score but his strike was brilliantly saved by the keeper.
Three changes were made at halftime, enabling the freezing subs to have a run out,and the home support expected a lot more goals. Only two more were scored, a header by Wilson and then Moore poked the ball into the net. Halliday nearly scored but his effort hit the bar. Comber could have and should have really scored a lot more goals.
The Comber keeper Rosbotham had nothing much to do the whole game, and had to run about just to keep warm. At the end Martin hit a shot which went close, but the keeper held it safely.
Against a better team Comber may have been made to pay for their wasted chances, but in the and it was a very comfortable victory.
