Comber started the game wanting to put last weeks disaster behind them. Even though they were without the pacy Wilson in midfield, they began well, passing the ball and putting in hard challenges. Coulter and Milligan were strong in midfield and combined well to set up Clifford who was unlucky with his effort. Larne too had their chances, but Rosbotham was in fine form saving well, and producing long kicks when required. Larne went one up when a through ball caught out the home defence and the striker slid the ball past Rosbotham. The resulting collision injured the Comber keeper, who carried on regardless until halftime. A few minutes later Coulter played in Clifford who scored with a great effort just inside the post with his left foot. Comber then dominated the rest of the half and went 2 - 1 up when Josh Dunlop poked the ball over the line to keep in contention with Clifford in the goal scoring charts. Just before halftime Larne equalised when a well hit shot flew high into the net giving Rosbotham no chance.
Moore replaced the injured Rosbotham at halftime and Comber went in search of the winning goal. Josh Dunlop hit a free kick just high, and the game ended in stalemate. Magee also had a great game in defence.A deserved result for both teams.
