Under 15s Match Report

Doyle 6 Comber 4

Comber produced another fine preformance against the probable league winners to continue their improving form. In a hard fought game, Comber possibly could have even won the game. Yet again a slow start from the Comber boys, led to them conceding a goal just 2 mins gone. Shortly after Rodney hit a great strike into the top right hand corner to equalise. two more defensive lapses led to Doyle going into a 3-1 lead. Comber had their chances to draw level but failed to take their chances. Walker hit a long range free kick which was tipped over the bar and Coulter mishit his effort from outside the box. It was Milligan who made the score 3-2 after good Comber pressure. Doyle were then fortunate to extend their lead to 4-2 just before the break, when a loopy cross went over Rosbotham and into the net.

Comber started the second half very strong with Coulter in particular showing great form in centre midfield. Wilson made it 4-3, then the in form Rodney scored his second of the game to draw level again. The doyle Doyle players appeared to be getting frustarted at times, not expecting a Comber fight back. Doyle went 6-4 up late on with two superb shots from way outside the box. Just at the end Wilson could have scored again but he pulled his shot just wide. The game ended with Doyle just shading it and probably deserving their victory. Had Comber been more clinical up front and been sharper at the back, the score could easily have went the other way.

Well done yet again to the Comber Boys on their recent effort and commitment on the pitch. They definatley need to start the games more focused. Lets hope they take their form in the last few games into their next match on Saturday against Sport & Leisure in a plate/league double header.
