Under 15s Match Report

Comber played another double header, this time at 3 Mile Water against a strong and bigger Sport & leisure side, who totally demolished us a few months earlier in the league. Today however was to be a totally different game. Against a strong determined centre forward the Comber defence found it hard to cope early on and fell behind when he struck a powerful shot which Rosbotham did well even to get a hand to. Two more goals followed in the rest of the first half, one header which looped over Daniel, the other a fortunate cross which decieved the keeper. Inbetween times Comber were solid in their challenges and effort, and easly could have scored to bring the scores closer! Coulter yet again was determined in midfield as was Walker at the back.
Indeed it was Coulter in the second half who did well on the right, and crossed a perfect ball on to Wilsons head, who placed it over the Sport & Lesiure keeper and into the net. A Marvellous goal. Comber now had their tails up and should have added to their tally, but were wasteful up front. Then Clifford need to be carried off after an injury to his knee, due to what appeared to be a harmless challenge. Comber kept pushing for a second goal which never came and the game ended with the better side deserving to win.
With better finishing by the midfield & forwards, perhaps Comber could have got something out of the game!
