Loughmoss, I was told historically was a difficult place for Comber Rec to visit and come away with a result, but no more, that myth ended on Saturday the 12th of Nov when Coaches' Nish and Stevo lead the 18s to a comprehensive victory against Carryduff. Stuart Leitch bagged a brace within 15 minutes, Joe Brennan and Ryan Bell both scored before half-time to make the game safe at 4-0.
The restart was obviously going to be an uphill battle for Carryduff but I'm assurred they made a good fist of it and could have had a couple but for some very sound defending and goalkeeping by the developing Rec 18s. A superb penalty save by Andy Topping ensurred another clean sheet in a league that just might go down to goal difference if the 18s can pick up away wins against the likes of Shankill Utd and Bangor Amatuers and of course a home win next week against Colinvalley would help the cause no end, watch this space. The last word went to Stuart Leitch as he finished off an effort from Dean Wylie to grab his hat-trick and the match ball ! em think Carryduff might want that match ball back Leitchy. next game home at Parkway 10.30am kick-off v Colinvalley.
