A pulsating derby that must have been great to watch but unfortunately we were on the wrong end of the scoreline. Whilst Ards Rangers didn't creat a bucket load of chances they were well worth their two goal lead in the opening half hour and if i am being honest they probably could have had the game out of sight. They were first to every ball and they seemed to want it that bit more than us which concerned me. Its ok for players to talk before hand about what they are going to do but when they cross that white line they have to deliver and in that opening half hour we didn't have one player who could say they performed. Tumelty got us a goal out of nothing and this gave us a bit of belief. We got on to equal terms and then we were unlucky not to be ahead with the Magennis chance right on half time. Some serious questions were asked at half time as i felt despite our strong finish to the half we were second best for long periods and giving the Ards Rangers team too much time and space. Second half we were much better and i feel that we were unfortunate. We had the better chances in the half and when you hit a post and bar in the same 15 minute spell it probably tells you that it isnt going to be your night. And then to get hit with the goal at the end was a case of daja vu from last season. Again slack marking in our back line made it all too easy for Davies to score. Overall i felt that we deserved a point from the game but as we all know you dont always get what you deserve. We have to take it on the chin and move on.
