As I write this last column of the season I would like to take the opportunity to thank all those in the background that have helped prepare the players for the last few months - Alan Clarson, Sammy Haskins, Lewis Dempster, Willy Hawkes, Gary Bennett and Derek. Their help has been invaluable to me and the players. I would also like to thank the players who have worked ever so hard since my arrival and thankfully it paid off. The players deserve a lot of the credit for our survival -they have battled for every point and finally got their just rewards with the vital win over Holywood. It was also good to reward the loyal band of supporters who have supported the team throughout what has been a roller coaster of a season.
Now the hard work begins as we prepare already for next season aiming to avoid a repeat of this season's relegation scrap. What I have witnessed in my short time in charge is that it is a very strong league and one that we must be well equipped for if we are wanting to compete at the right end of the table. Finally I would like to offer my congratulations to Newington on winning the league.
