Every time I drive into Comber I pass a huge advertising hording that says in bold writing “LIVE THE DREAM” . Well as far as we are concerned our Irish Cup dream is still alive! After the game against Drumaness Mills I felt like an escaped convict; all I heard was “ you got out of jail there!” I can understand the temptation to use that overworked cliché but I really think the team did so well to keep going that they deserve a lot of credit and praise.

It would be true to say a lot of our players did not have their best games but for “stickability” everyone of them gets full marks!

From a “footballistic” perspective, that’s a word recently used by Arsene Wenger, Drumaness played well and were good on the ball never the less I think in the final phase of the game when we turned up the pressure we exposed them and deservedly emerged winners.

I don’t overlook the three or four super saves made by Jason Mooney when, we were trailing 1-0. But, hey, that’s what he’s there to do.

Congratulations to Kyle McQuillan on being chosen as the Comber Man of the Match. Thanks to Simon Hamilton, MLA, for his generous sponsorship.

This week, Saturday 26th we go the short distance to play Ards Rangers. It is sometime since we played our near neighbours so we look forward to renewing old friendships.

Live the Dream !!
