There is a fine line between success and failure! I think that well worn expression is very appropriate when looking at this game. I was very pleased with our performance although extremely disappointed with the result in the circumstances! Now I am not normally prone to making excuses but I feel that it is only right that I speak for the lads on the pitch, many of whom played through injuries and, indeed, pain barriers. Things were so bad on Thursday night that when I was making arrangements for the game at Ards I considered that we met on Saturday morning at the Ulster Hospital!!

Consider this ........ we are away to the team sitting at the top of the league ....... we are facing a team who are scoring an average of three goals a game........ we take the game to them ....... we stop them scoring ....... and we end up losing !! Yes there is a fine line between success and failure!

Congratulations to Jason Mooney, he was the Comber Rec man of the match. Thanks to Karl Adair and Norman Beckfor their generous sponsorship.

Anyway it's upwards and onwards; next Saturday we are at home to Barn Utd in the Border Cup and I know the players will give 100% in an effort to progress in the competition. Its not to long since we failed at the final step, I know we are all keen to go one better this year.

As I write this piece I notice that the calendar on the wall says "September". The season has a long way to go. keep the faith, keep believing, don't be negative, spread the positive vibes.

Jason Mooney receiving his MOTM award from match day sponsors Karl Adair and Norman Beck.
