In a cup game, when all's said and done, 1-0 is as good as 10-0 ! That cliche may be true but I must admit to finding the final stages of the game to being a bit nerve wracking. From the first minute when we spurned a good chance we then replicated that through the rest of the game, interrupted by a moment of genius from Jim McCloskey from when out wide on our left when he curled the ball of the keeper into the net via the stanchion. He really did mean it, I think ! Anyway our match sponsor musty have thought so as well as it contributed to Jim getting the Comber Man of the Match. Well Done Skipper!!

Anyway, we do progress to the last eight of the Border Cup where we are away to Shankill United. By all accounts they are a good team who like to pass the ball about. Its a busy time for cup football as in the next few week as we entertain Broomhedge in the JJB Irish Cup and then travel to Mid-Ulster in the Intermediate Cup to play Blackers Mill.

Of course, all those games take a back seat as we prepare to take on Dunmurry Rec. As I said previously it is early in the season but we want to get a few more points to our credit in the League. Thanks to all who continue to show support, keep turning up in your numbers, remember the players who you want to see do well thrive on your support and encouragement. So thanks and keep on doing what you do!
