There’s a saying in football that says “we win as a team and we lose as a team” Well, we certainly lost this game “as a team!” I could make excuses and explain how Dunmurry got the breaks, how we think the second goal was offside, how we contributed to our own downfall by a couple of moments of carelessness but the truth of the matter is that we were beaten by a better team on the day. At the moment with the personnel that we have our game is fundamentally to keep things tight at the back and rely on scoring the odd goal but in this instance we were just too sloppy in the defensive third of the field. One of the problems in a situation like this is that the game takes on a different slant when you go a goal or two behind and have to chase the game and open things up too much at the back However, now is the time to keep calm and deal with matters in a rational manner.

While we consider a 4-0 score against us a disaster just look at the Crusaders and Linfield game where the same scoreline resulted! Now no-one is going to say that all of a sudden Crusaders are a bad team. I know that the Crues can stand that reversal due to the fact that they are top of the league  while we are at the other end of our table but the principle is the same. We have a squad of good players, unfortunately, too many of the failed to perform on the same occasion. What we have to to is get on with things and make sure we win our next game away to Albert Foundry.

For me it can't come quick enough!!
