For this Halloween special we “Tricked” our opposition from Mid Ulster into thinking they were about to spring a cup of shock then we “Treated” the Park way faithful to a feast of goals.

Blackers Mill overturned a one goal deficit to take the lead as a consequence of a couple of “Howlers” committed by some normally solid individuals. Thanks to the constant cajoling by skipper Jim McCloskey we managed to eventually nick an equaliser late on in the game. After that there was only going to be one winner. While credit must be given to Blackers Mill all the plaudits should go to a number of never say die Comber. Cup ties always provide upsets but as it is we are still in the cup!

It was good to see Fergus Forsythe in a Comber shirt after many attempts to lure him to Park Way.  It was his first full game for some time but despite that he did make a significant contribution.

After scoring 12 goals in the last two games I hope we have got used to the habit and continue in that view in our next game against Shankill United in the border Cup. Actually, one would do if we can keep a clean sheet at the other end. We are informed from a few sources that they are a good side who like to play football. I suppose that’s what we all like to do! We know it will be tough but hopefully we can raise to the occasion and progress through to the semi-finals.

Congratulations to Ryan Johnston; One Stop Mortgage Shop Player of the Month for October and thanks to the sponsor, Norman Mawhinney for his continued and generous sponsorship.
