Bangor CIS Development 9 a side Football Competition Spring / Summer 2010
Following the success of the Autumn / Winter 2009/2010 CIS Development football competition, Comber began the Spring / Summer 2010 competition with great confidence and with a point to prove to the other North Down sides that it was no fluke!.
In a seven week competition were they played 15 games, Comber managed to score an amazing 87 goals and conceded just 4. This was down to great team work, superb defending and a very clinical strike force.
Comber won every game that they played in this competition playing against some stern opposition such as Linfield, Bryansburn, Abbey Villa, Castle Juniors and Groomsport.
21 different players from each of the youth sides took part in the competition with 16 of them getting on the score sheet.
On the Finals night a great turn out from all the parents and friends watched Comber again lift the trophy with Man of the Match, Andy Curran – Cochrane turning in a superb performance which was capped by a fine goal in the final.
Once again however it was the goal machine Sarah Connolly who topped the pile with a fantastic haul of 16 goals in 15 games. (This gave her 27 Goals for the season over the both competitions)
A big thank you once again to all of the parents who helped every week with transport and refreshments for everyone and for providing fantastic support to the team for both competitions.
