Match Report V's Brentwood

Comber were away to Brentwood last saturday and came away with all 3pts.Goals by Stevie Hanna(2) Steven Maguire and a hat-trick by Chris Curran-Cochrane gave Comber the win which they truely deserved. Comber had 3 players aged 15 playing, a great credit to their youth system and the boys certainly did not look out of place. Stevie Hanna put Comber in front early on, but Comber relaxed their guard and nearly let B'wood level only for a great penalty save by Ryan Cunningham. The Rec. were creating some good chances, but just could not kill the match, the 2nd half however was a different story. A hat-trick inside of 10 mins. by 14year old Chris Curran-Cochrane changed the game completely.(could he be the youngest player to score a hat-trick in the D.A.W.L. premier division?) Stevie Hanna made it 5 and Steven Maguire completed the rout, slotting home after a great pass from Rab McMillen.

Recent Match Reports

Sat 19th April. v Corrymeela.
A weakened Comber team hosted league leaders Cmeela at parkway and the boys were very unlucky not to have come away with all 3pts. A goal by seasoned veteran Stevie Hanna gave Comber a 2nd half lead,a lead that they held ontill the 94th minute, but they were hit by a sucker punch when Meela scored.Despite protests that the player was off-side the result stood.

Wed 23rd April. v Portavogie.
Another fine display by a youthfull Comber side (Stevie Hanna and big Rab being the exceptions) saw Comber take all 3pts. Goals by Ryan Oliver and Alex Malcolm-Bourne clinched a well deserved win for Comber.

Sat 25th April. v Comber Star.
Comber took all 3pts against the Star in a totally one sided match.Although Comber left it late for their winner scored by Andy (brave- heart) James, to be honest if it had been a boxing match it would have been stopped such was Comber's dominance.
