Comber Rec progressed comfortably into the second round of this year’s Irish Cup with an impressive 6–1 victory away to Bloomfield FC.

The Rec produced an excellent all-round performance, taking control of the game and making their superiority count in front of goal. Hutton was the star of the afternoon, finding the net four times in a superb individual display, while Bayliss and Murray also got their names on the scoresheet to complete an emphatic victory.

It was a thoroughly professional performance from Comber, with the team looking strong throughout and giving Bloomfield very little opportunity to get back into the contest. Six goals, a convincing win and progression to the next round made it a near-perfect afternoon for the Rec.
