Comber picked up all three points on Saturday with an impressive 3–0 victory over East Belfast.

The Rec made a strong start and took control of the game in the first half, with goals from Murray and Sofley giving Comber a deserved two-goal advantage and setting them firmly on their way.

East Belfast, however, were far from out of the contest and continued to pose a threat. Comber had Whitehead to thank for an important defensive block, while Pollock was called into action on a couple of occasions and produced good saves to preserve the clean sheet.

At the other end, Irwin was desperately unlucky not to get his name on the scoresheet, striking the woodwork twice as Comber looked to put the game beyond doubt.

The third goal finally arrived in the closing stages. Wilson produced a superb run before picking out Donaldson, who made no mistake with the finish, hammering the ball home to seal a convincing 3–0 win.

It was a strong all-round performance from Comber, combining some excellent attacking play with solid defending when East Belfast threatened, and another valuable three points secured.
