A brilliant performance from Comber Rec saw them come away from Crumlin Star with all three points after a thrilling encounter.


The Rec got off to the worst possible start, finding themselves 2–0 down inside the opening 20 minutes, but showed great character to fight their way back into the game. Goals from D. Wilson, Hutton and Bayliss completed an excellent first-half turnaround and sent Comber into the break with a 3–2 lead.


Crumlin Star responded immediately after the restart, drawing level to make it 3–3 and setting up a tense second half. However, Comber refused to be denied and regained the lead when Nelson found the net to make it 4–3.


From there, the Rec produced a determined and disciplined team performance to see the game out, defending their lead and working tirelessly right to the final whistle. After falling two goals behind so early in the match, the response from the players was outstanding and the victory was thoroughly deserved.


A superb comeback, a great team performance and another valuable three points for the Rec.
